The IPTV reseller model is simpler than it looks from the outside. Once you understand who does what, every other decision — which panel, which bundle, which retail price — becomes much easier.
The Three Roles
The provider operates the streaming infrastructure: servers, channel sources, VOD libraries, apps compatibility and panel software. Providers do not usually deal with end customers at scale — that is what resellers are for.
You, the reseller, run the business side: finding customers, setting retail prices, activating subscriptions, helping with setup, and handling renewals. You buy subscription capacity from the provider in the form of credits.
Your customers pay you for subscriptions and watch through a player app on their TV, phone or computer. Most never know a provider exists — you are their point of contact.
Where the Money Flows
- You buy a credit bundle from the provider (prepaid).
- A customer pays you your retail price — for example a monthly or yearly plan.
- You spend credits in your panel to create that customer’s subscription.
- The difference between the retail price and the credit cost is your gross margin.
Because credits are prepaid and spent per sale, there is no large fixed overhead: your costs scale with actual revenue. The trade-off is that margin discipline matters — underpricing your plans or overbuying credits you cannot sell both hurt.
What a Typical Day Looks Like
Most active resellers spend their time on four things: answering inquiries on WhatsApp or social channels, creating and renewing lines in the panel, helping customers with player app setup, and posting or advertising to find new buyers. The panel work itself takes minutes; the business is really a customer service and marketing operation.
Is It Passive Income?
No — and be suspicious of anyone who frames it that way. The model has recurring revenue because subscriptions renew, but renewals depend on your service quality. Resellers who answer fast, set up devices properly and remind customers before expiry keep their base. Those who disappear after the first sale watch it churn.
